UGM focuses to find scholarship sponsors that can be utilized as financial support for underprivileged students. The scholarship is expected to improve the student\u2019s achievement and accelerate the completion of their studies. UGM has established cooperation with approximately 60 scholarship sponsors. The number of scholarship recipients continues to increase from 4.471 students (2004) to 8.620 students (2009). Almost 24% of UGM active students are financially assisted by these scholarships. The total scholarship amounts of 20.8 billion rupiah. The percentage of Faculty of Geography students who received scholarships in 2009 reached 30%. In the future, UGM will continue to seek for new breakthrough to establish new partnership with various sponsors. Faculty of Geography is also taking part in continuously help its students who experience financial barriers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objectives : <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.Provide services to attain wider opportunities for students who have high intellectual skill, but not having adequate financial support for education at Universitas Gadjah Mada<\/p>\n<p>2.Providing services for high-achieving students to improve their achievement and shorten the duration of study.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Type of Scholarship : <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In general, scholarship are granted to students based on the parameter of vulnerability. This parameter ensures targeted distribution of the scholarship. There are two types of scholarships that are managed and distributed by UGM to the students, namely :<\/p>\n<p>1. Scholarship for students who have high academic achievement, but come from low-income families. Financial barriers may be prioritized in addition to academic achievement<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Help relief or exemption of <em>SPMA<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Reduction of Education and Operational Cost <em>(SPP \/ BOP)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Help for Book Payment<\/li>\n<li>Life Cost Assistance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2. Scholarship for outstanding students. The main consideration is academic achievements of the recipients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Education Operational Cost Support <em>(BOP)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Education Assistance Contributions <em>(SPP)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>General Requirements for Scholarship Recipients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Registered as a regular S1 or diploma student of UGM (as required by the scholarship sponsor)<\/li>\n<li>Fill the application form for the submission of scholarship, which has been signed by the Vice Dean of Student Affairs (the form can be downloaded from the student website of UGM)<\/li>\n<li>Not submitting or receiving other scholarships. (double scholarship are prohibited)<\/li>\n<li>Submit certificate \/ proof of income of parents (original or legalized certicate)<\/li>\n<li>Submit a legalized copy of family card (C1)<\/li>\n<li>Submit any other specified requirements<\/li>\n<li>Proposed by \/ through the concerned faculty<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Information:<\/p>\n<p>Scholarship will be stopped if the recipient student take a college leave, has graduated, or does not meet the requirements that have been determined.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Procedures of Scholarship Services<\/strong><br \/>\nProcedures for scholarship applicants :<br \/>\n1.Fill the scholarship application form<br \/>\n2.Complete the specified requirements<br \/>\n3. Submit the file to the faculty officer \/ academic staff<br \/>\n4. Receive a scholarship<br \/>\n5.
